A new school year!

Mrs. Ray and Will

Well we had our school Meet & Greet Teacher Night tonight. Will is going to be in Mrs. Lisa Ray's class for 5th grade. They will rotate to each of the other 4 teachers as well for the different subjects. Mrs. Ray has been teaching quite a while and I really think this is going to be a GREAT year for him! :)


Will Singleton, Mrs Coats, Drew & Mrs. Markum

Drew is going to have Mrs. Belinda Coats & Mrs. Pat Markum for 1st grade. Above he is pictured with one of his best buds-Will Singleton. He is very excited to start the year and is even more excited that some of his friends are in his class.

Mrs. Coats and Mrs. Markum co-teach. Mrs. Coats teaches reading, phonics and language arts in the morning and in the afternoon Mrs. Markum will be teaching them math, spelling, social studies & art. Together they have 73 years of teaching experience in the 1st grade. It is a unique set up that I think benefits both the teacher and the students for sure. They both taught for years on their own and then 2 years ago they decided to co-teach. I believe this is the first time they have allowed this in our school system and it has worked out wonderfully.
