Sewing, Sewing and more sewing!

I have been doing alot of sewing lately and thought I would share some pictures of what I have been doing. I have really grown to enjoy sewing because it is such a relaxing yet productive thing for me and it's something I can do with the boys in the room with me if I choose so, it's not restricting my family time. My grandmother was a big sewer/quilter so I guess its in my genes. My only regret is that I wish I had learned to sew earlier because it would have been a hobby we could have shared but, if she could see me know....she would be so proud and surprised! :)



I decided to start a new quilting bee about a month ago and I invited all the quilters that inspire me to participate in the fun. I have enjoyed getting to know the other
10 quilters very much. There are quilters from Ohio, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Utah, 1 from England and 1 from Argentina...all coming together because of a common addiction to quilting. :)

The purpose of the bee is to make 6 blocks all the same block style but in different colorways according to what each individual in your bee wants. Renee asked for green, aqua & white and I love how the block turned out.

Below is the same block in a different colorway for Colleen. She asked for blue, brown and white.
I just loved fussy cutting that bunny for the center! This bee has been so much fun we are already planning another round after Christmas.

These hexagon flower blocks were so much fun to make. They were not complicated at all and were just right up my alley because it gave me alot of creative freedom.

I am not sure where I will use this quilt below. Possibly in our bedroom but I can just see Jason saying he "loves" all the pink. (yeah right!) But I just fell in love with this big rose print. Coincidently the fabric is from Amy Butlers "Love" collection. It is in my "to be completed soon" pile. I want to add a border and then I think I will send it off to a long arm quilter to be quilted.

Thes have ended up being some of my favorite blocks to do. They are called a wonky star block and they are fairly easy to make and I have decided I am a big fan of star & pinwheel blocks.
